Counselor's Corner

School Counseling:

The primary goals of the school counseling program are:

To ensure that students feel safe and comfortable.

To understand their own abilities, interests and personal characteristics.

To learn to adjust in a satisfactory manner to all situations, problems, and expectations of the school environment.

To encourage students to socialize in a positive manner that cultivates a school-wide community rooted in CARES (cooperation, assertion, responsibility, empathy and self-control).

The school counselor should attempt to achieve these goals through classroom lessons, special programs, individual and group meetings, and parent and teacher consultation.
