Upper Freehold Regional Public School District Preschool Program Overview

The Upper Freehold Regional Public School District (UFRSD) Preschool Program is a comprehensive initiative designed to serve 3- and 4-year-old children. The program operates at Newell Elementary School and Kiddie Academy, with placement for typically developing children determined through a lottery system. Children with special needs are enrolled based on identification, evaluation, and eligibility procedures outlined in the New Jersey Administrative Code.

The Preschool Program utilizes the highly regarded Tools of the Mind curriculum and the NJDOE-recommended TS Gold Assessment to support and enhance learning outcomes for our young students. As part of our program's growth, we have introduced a Preschool Interventionist/Preschool Instructional Coach to further support the instructional needs of our students and staff.

The UFRSD Preschool Community prioritizes building strong relationships and fostering collaboration among district stakeholders. By partnering with community organizations and strengthening connections, we strive to support our students and their families holistically.

This commitment is reflected in the establishment of a district-wide Preschool Advisory Group (ECAC), open to all district preschool families across all locations and programs. This group meets monthly to provide educational opportunities, program updates, and collaborative planning for preschool events.

Funding from the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) has been instrumental in expanding our program, allowing us to provide equitable access to high-quality preschool education for an increased number of students. This initiative lays a strong foundation as children progress through the continuum of educational programming in Upper Freehold and Allentown.
