Things we are looking for in general:

• Good technique and craftsmanship

• Original ideas

• Evidence of experimentation

• Effort

Portfolio, consisting of 6-8 examples of work.

• Work created during the past year.

• Minimum of 2 different media (pencil, pain, clay, etc.)

• Minimum of one piece done outside of the classroom

• Minimum of one piece using color

• One self portrait

Short written artist's statement (one paragraph, minimum of five sentences) describing why applicant wants to be a part of the "academy".
Letter of Recommendation from current teacher.
